Look out, Boomers, Gen Xers, Xennials, Millennials, and Gen Z, there’s another generation in town. Introducing Generation Alpha.
Born between 2011 and 2025, Generation Alpha is expected to be the wealthiest, most tech savvy and well-educated generation in history. The children of Xennials and Millennials, more than 2.5 million Alphas are born every week—with an estimated 2 billion being born by 2025.
Alphas are the first generation who will spend the biggest part of their formative years fully immersed in technology. Raised by “screenagers,” Alphas may already have a digital footprint…in the way of social media accounts created and managed by their parents (think about how parents now set up Instagram accounts for their children at birth).
Being born into a digital life, Alphas will have shorter attention spans and expect every online user experience to be personalized, cutting edge, and seamless.
But, technology isn’t the only thing that defines Alphas; diversity and acceptance of races, ethnicities, and sexual orientations help give this generation a wholesome shape not seen in prior generations. Additionally, they’re already environmentally conscious, and in the long run, will look to brands who maintain the same values, standards, and beliefs that they embody.
